Ever After Boys

Day 22
(December 1, 2010)

I cracked up today. I called Carol today and she seemed like she was jumping for joy yelling "they've got logs, they've got logs."  And yes, dog people would know, she's referring to puppy poop!  Apparently, puppies are doing great on the gruel! She's starting them on one meal a day and will add more meals in a few days.  I'm sure Sasha is happy although she'll miss her whelping box time.  She was licking and cleaning them today but wasn't too enthused about the puppies getting up in her face. She likes playing with them on her own terms. Sasha goes in and out of the box as she pleases and she's really good and quiet walking in slowly so the puppies don't get crazy when she arrives. Carol calls her an "adequate" mom but I think she's doing great for a mastiff mom...

Carol started playing the puppy socialization cds and they don't seem to notice it at all.  They are starting to run and play and there are a few growls but no real barks yet.  The teeth are coming in so they are less inclined to suck on each other now.  No more suction although some of them are still licking...I guess because of the teeth, the other puppy is less likely to let it go nowadays!

I love the fact that I have Carol trained enough that she now refers to the pups as "your puppies."  Carol, I'm glad you finally know your place! Ha ha ha ha......
