Odin x Cider Puppies

Chapter VIII: The Sixth Week
(Day 36- Day 42)

August 23, 2008
(Day Forty Two)

The puppies got to meet a lot of people today .Jamal's aunt came to visit and one of the families that adopted two mastiff rescues came to visit and play with the puppies as well. They seemed to do great although by the time the third group of people came, all they wanted to do was sleep. I love tired puppies :-) Cider and Coda loved having so many people over. They LOVE the attention. Especially Coda who was so excited he didn't know what to do with himself.

They are 6 weeks old today and I can't BELIEVE how fast it has been. We're tired but once they started kibble, they have become more or less easy puppies. Up until today, my last feeding was at midnight and I fed again at 6am but today, I let it go until 8:30am and they did great. Not a huge mess and they didn't seem like they were starving or anything. We'll see how it goes with the 4 meals. We've also gone from gruel to soaked kibble and Canon has made the transition beautifully. Chorus though gets the job done but she needs to put her feet in the bowl and knead. I've gotten a few suggestions off the CanineRepro-PuppyCare list on teaching her to eat cleaner -- such as using a smaller bowl, using a raised bowl, putting a little down at a time...We'll see if any of these help :-)
