Odin x Cider Puppies

Chapter VI: The Fourth Week
(Day 22- Day 28)

August 8, 2008
(Day Twenty Seven)

I am still not at 100% and neither is Cider. She was running a high fever yesterday so we took her to the vet. We had finished the round of antibiotics for mastitis two days before and then she got a fever. I wasn't 100% convinced it was the mastitis (which is what my vets thought) that caused the fever since she didn't get a fever last time so we ultrasounded her again and thankfully, there's nothing there. We re-did the culture and sensitivity on her teats to make sure we're still dealing with the same bacteria. Today, she's still a touch lethargic but no more fever. She just needs to dry up already!!!! She's actually hasn't been trying to get to the puppies for awhile but "Mama" Coda has :-)

The puppies are doing great. They are really vocalizing but I still am not sure if they can hear or not. They are really fearless but messy. I feel like I'm constantly wiping them down with a washcloth and lately, it hasn't been cutting it.. I do not remember the last litter being "dirty" like this. I have a really weak stomach for smells too and I leave the room for 15-20 minutes and I swear, they are covered in poop! Thank goodness I'm a little stuffed up.
