Prologue

This litter was definitely a wonderful surprise.  This was not the first time we tried breeding Coda to Sasha. The first time, she reabsorbed and we were all very sad.   After the disappointment, I didn't think I wanted to try again but just 5 months later, Carol called me to see if I would be willing another attempt.

We started making plans and she mentioned that she was leaving for Germany in a couple of days and she would have her mother drive Coda to my house and I could do the breeding myself at around Day 11 or so. I had to regretfully inform her that I would be in Las Vegas that weekend and my dogs would be with Jamal's sister, Sade.  We decided we didn't want to waste this season as Sasha was already 4 so Carol suggested that maybe her mom (who has never even collected a dog, let alone done an AI) and Sade (who is just grossed out by the thought of this) could at least attempt a breeding.  I figured, what the hell, nothing to lose....And I figured, at the very least, this would be a very funny storry -- Carol's mom and Sade trying to do an AI with nothing more than some verbal instructions...And it would be even funnier if she got pregnant this way especially since there would be no progesterone testing done!

I remember getting called in Las Vegas that day, Sade had told me that she had to take a shower right after and how gross it was. How at one point, the tube got stuck, how she could not watch the collection process.  How her boyfriend Ryan could not even look Carol's mom in the face ....I was laughing so hard, my sides hurt!

When I finally got the call from Carol that Sasha took, my jaw dropped. And now we have 7 beautiful babies...I guess it was a story that had to be told!
